I think that Achilles fella was on to something...
So, I thought I'd re-start this whole blog thing with something I'm generally pretty good at: bitching.
In the past two days, I have managed to significantly injure, at the same time, BOTH of my feet...as you can probably guess, this puts a bit of a damper on my mobility. Now I'm just frustrated. Not only did I need to work, but I also wanted to do a slew of other activities that require me to use my feet...but, this is how the whole thing got started to begin with.
I decided on Tuesday that I was going to work my ass off because I needed some money (fancy that...) and that the best way to do this would be to squeeze in as much work into one day and then take a break the next day...so, that's what I did. I started around 10 a.m. and found myself done and sitting by 12 a.m...sure, my feet hurt...but, that's not really anything new...I expected that.
It was my stupidity yesterday that really sealed the deal. I went out to practice with my new soccer team (as an aside, I'm super out of shape, but I've stayed generally active my whole life, so I didn't think twice about at least trying..) and thought it would be ok if I just took off running without much warm-up...boy, I was wrong.
I've already played two games with these guys...just enough to show me how wicked out of shape I am and how bad I suck....but, I was just slightly sore all over...again, I expected this...but, this time, I think I've really done it...I've over-strained some ligaments in the heels of both my feet and, now, I'm able to walk with a ridiculous limp at about .1 miles per hour.
Go team. The lesson here is: If you are no longer 17, it is best to fully stretch out and warm up before breaking into 100 yard sprints...
I know this now....And, the shitty thing is, I have no health insurance...and I have no idea how long this bullshit is going to last. So...there you have it...bitching.
I figure I'm just going to sit outside for the rest of the day...reeking of Icey Hot and working on getting that job that doesn't require 12 hours of physical labor to pay the bills...
