You know what?!?!

Eh, nevermind...you wouldn't understand anyway.

Talkin' 'bout peace of mind.

And now....a public service announcement brought to you by:

Thomas James....former lead-singer/founder of the pop group Tommy James and the Shondells.

Greetings fellow psychedelic cyber-spacers! To start off, you may not recognize me...or my band...or my intentions for being here on this blog...but, no worries! I'm here today to bring you message about a very serious problem that is creeping up, a "silent killer"...if you will, in all of our beloved cities. This problem I speak of may be alien to you...or, you may have given it a brief thought while driving...but, nevertheless, the tragedy happens every...single...day. The horror I speak of is........the untimely loss of our nation's Oldies radio stations.

Sure....you may have taken them for granted before...we all did! But,now, they slip away like a fist full of sand. Why are we letting this happen? Maybe we don't recognize the importance of an oldie in today's world. But, let me tell you...with out songs like, "Mony Mony," "Crimson and Clover" and "I Think We're Alone Now," there would be very few pop riffs to rip off or cover for today's pop music!

And...just think...what use are all those good times when there's no great oldies to follow?

At this point, you may be asking yourself, "But, Tommy...what can I do? I care for an oldie just as much as the next person!" Well, I'll tell you what YOU can do...you can boycott those bizarro radio stations that are popping up nationwide...you know, the ones that have the gall to create playlists with a ? and the Mysterians ditty followed by a J.Lo atrocity. Yes...you know them...they have unassuming, innocent, almost huggable names like BOB or JACK FM. They've sparked a hostile take-over of the airwaves with their initially likable "variety"...but, where's the love? The loss of specializations inevitably leads to our cultural devolution.

Yes. It's that serious.

So, please...think about your choice of radio stations and supportive bumper stickers. Think before you tackle another human being for an oversized promotional t-shirt...and, please, THINK before you place your icy beverage in an imperialistic koozy....the fun and feel-goodness of today may not leave our children with as much as a crystal blue persuasion for tomorrow.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Thomas James

Now...back to our regularly scheduled program.

Uhhhh...hey. Yeah...ummm...who let THAT freak in?

Well, I guess it's about time that I look into a restraining order for those Shondell boys.
