Did everyone have a pleasant holiday? Did we all make sure to visit at least one service/retail outfit in order to experience the fun irony of Labor day? I did. I also had the day off of work...this is just coincidental...I always seem to have Mondays off. And then I spent the entire day painting my room-to-be and awkwardly rearranging my living room.
I also realized early last night that I had gone an entire Labor day without drinking a beer! This goes against everything I believe the white-trash holiday should be about. Labor day is one of the biannual events that justifies drinking beer before noon...the other one is the yearly camping trip. The rest of the year I just have live with the fact that I'm an alcoholic...seriously though, the drinking before noon isn't a regular occurrence (you take back your glares!)
So, even though I didn't drink beer...which I generally do everyday anyway...I did accomplish something. My house is starting to look less like a frat house/dorm room and more like...well...a home. I'm getting everything ready in order to eventually accept a new roommate. I'm selfishly moving into the bigger room and leaving my destroyed 5x5 hole for a fun new person! But, don't worry new roomie, I plan on patching up the holes and sweeping up the cat hair...
